Outdoor Miami Date Ideas
If you live in the South Florida area, and you are running out of original date ideas…you’ve come to precisely the right place. We want to help couples think outside of the box. Sometimes even the most romantic places in South Florida aren’t going to feel romantic if you don’t plan properly. Remembering to add in some special details can turn an ordinary date that you’ve done before into a fun date that will never be forgotten. Memorable dates in South Florida don’t have to be expensive – just well thought out.
Picnic in the Park
Be romantic and plan a surprise brunch or afternoon lunch in the park. Pack a sheet, a light blanket or if you want to be really fancy, you can order a picnic blanket and basket online ahead of time. If you’re both wine lovers, pack a bottle of wine, some cheese and grapes for a lovely escape from the usual grind. One of our favorite parks is David T. Kennedy Park located at 2400 S Bayshore Dr, Miami, FL 33133 There are also bikes available for rent and dog parks for both big and small dogs. This makes it a perfect date spot if you want to bring your furry companion along.
Sporting Events – Ladies ladies ladies – if you want to win your man’s heart over (and your cooking just isn’t working) then surprise him with tickets to one of his favorite teams home games. Whether it’s the Miami Dolphins, the Florida Panthers, the Miami Heat or the Miami Marlins, nothing will make him happier especially if his team wins. But win or lose, seeing that his honey made a huge effort to surprise him and attend his favorite sporting event with him will knock his feelings for you out of the park.
Gold Coast Railroad Museum– Trains can be very romantic. If you want to take some romantic pictures, this would the place to do it. Strike a pose in front of a historic railcar and capture this romantic date in time. Stroll through this museum and learn about history. Check out their website for tickets and special hours of operation. This can also be a fun family date and they’re open 7 days a week (10a-4p Monday thru Friday and 11a-4p on Saturdays and Sundays). Located at 12450 SW 152nd Street, Miami, FL 33177
Turtle Hatching (seasonal from March to October) – There are several areas where you can go watch turtles hatch. We just ask that you be responsible and observe them from a distance so you don’t disturb the nest. Sound and light can confuse them before they make their trek to the ocean. You can go with a guide to ensure you’re going to the right place and not disrupting their habitat. But overall, there are not many other things more romantic than a dark stroll along the beach, with ocean breeze in your face and only the moonlight to guide your path.
Volunteer – Helping others will bring you two closer together. Or if you’re single, you may meet someone who shares a passion for helping others and this alone is a great foundation to start any relationship. If you have any shortage of ideas, some of our favorites are Miami Bridge that helps troubled youth and gives guidance and shelter for kids living in high-risk homes. Big Brother Big Sister, Habitat for Humanity, Feed My Starving Children and the Make a Wish Foundation.
